AlMaliki: USArab antiIran conspiracy doomed to failure
Baghdad, Former Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri alMaliki warned against consequences of US illegal acts in the region, and said the conspiracy by some Arab states and Israel to push the US to war against Iran will certainly fail.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with IRNA, Maliki said the US military presence and deploying arms and forces to socalled targeting Iran is a very dangerous step.
He added that the Washington itself violated all international regulations.
Maliki reiterated that the US has pushed the region into a war phase that no country will be safe as regard its dangerous consequences.
He went on to say that Iran has its own demand and the country will never retreat from its legitimate rights but will defend them.
Iraq has always stressed that instead of using arms, the US should take advantage of talks for solving problems, he noted.
Maliki went on to say that some Arab states for their sectarian views and the Israeli regime for its fear of Iran's role in Arab World and the region are after pushing region into war.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Maliki referred to his recent meeting with Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs David M. Satterfield, saying Satterfield was aimed to convey a kind of threatening message.
He said he had urged the US to set aside provocative acts and deployment of arms and warships to region.
Meanwhile earlier, alMaliki in a statement warned the US about its provocative and warmongering measures against Iran.
AlMaliki also called for ending crisis through dialogue and avoiding the use of force under current juncture.
'Escalation of military threats and beating drums of war in the region as well as implicative threats for military confrontation and economic sanctions by the US against the neighboring states contravenes international norms and will have dangerous consequences,' he said.
Referring to the hazardous repercussions of such policies for all the regional nations, especially the Iranian and Iraqi nations, he said that they will bring about new waves of violence at a time when the regional nations need peace, stability and economic development more than ever.
'Using force and economic sanctions against the neighboring Iran is flagrant violation of international regulations and an act against an independent Muslim country which does not surrender to bullying, he noted.
