Ancient vegetable seeds found in Boukan

Tehran, Documentary and settlement sequence study explorations led to discovery of three-thousand-year-old vegetable seeds.

Discovered seeds include wheat seeds, unwanted grass and likely barley seeds.

Siminehroud River and Boukan basin are the main causes of the 11-meters-depth deposition from Iron and Bronze Age, the site where the ancient seeds are found.

Stratigraphic excavations are underway in Sardar Castle located in Boukan, Western Azerbaijan Province.
