AntiIran sanctions dangerous: Iraqi politician
Baghdad, Head of the National Wisdom Movement of Iraq Seyyed Ammar Hakim said on Thursday that unilateral sanctions against Iran are a dangerous heresy in the international relations.
In a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Iraq Iraj Masjedi, he stressed his opposition to any unilateral sanctions against Iran.
He also called for keeping up contacts for the settlement of outstanding issues between the two nations.
Iraq impacts neighboring states with its historic position and is a suitable option to mediate among regional powers, he said.
Masjedi, for his part, commented on Iran's stances regarding recent developments, including US move to place IRGC on terrorism blacklist.
He also presented a report on the agreements reached during President Hassan Rouhani's recent visit to Iraq.
Earlier, Hakim condemned US decision to blacklist IRGC as terrorist and warned the US against creating new crises by thoughtless acts.
