APP calls for enhanced media cooperation with IRNA
Islamabad, Managing Director of the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) has called for more cooperation with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
Masood Malik, during a meeting with Fardin Pazouki, Director General of IRNA Foreign News Desk on the sidelines of a two-day International Conference of News Agencies (ICNA) in Islamabad, said that he will be visiting Tehran after the holy month of Ramadan to sign a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IRNA.
He expressed gratitude to the Iranian guest for visiting Pakistan to attend the ICNA meeting and said that recommendations of Mr. Pazouki were fruitful for the meeting. He added that APP wants to enhance its cooperation with IRNA in future.
He went on to say that his upcoming visit to Iran is very significant as it would help in bringing the two premier news agencies of two friendly states further close to each other.
Masood Malik during the meeting noted that most of the news about Iran is coming in Pakistan through Western media which is biased.However, the APP always relies on IRNA as a source and takes every step to stop fake news about Iran.
I respect and have high regards for the struggle of the brave and courageous Iranian nation, the APP MD said.
He went on to say that it is his dream that new generation of Pakistan should have better relations with the youth of Iran.
He said that soon the APP would start Persian news service which would prove to be a major step for boosting the bilateral ties.
Fardin Pazouki expressing his views said that Iran and Pakistan are two close friendly states and tied in eternal bond of friendship.
He appreciated the effort of the APP to hold the International Conference of News Agencies, adding that this practice should continue to usher a new era of cooperation among news organizations.
He added that it was need of the hour that news disseminating bodies collaborate and cooperate with each other to cope with the increasing challenges of the world, particularly faced by the developing world.
He said there should be increased cooperation between IRNA and APP, adding that the top management of the two news organizations must visit each other's organization to upgrade the bilateral news exchange program on modern lines.
Fardin Pazouki said that upcoming visiting of Managing Director of the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) to Iran would further boost cooperation between the two organizations.
He congratulated government and people of Pakistan on the 70th Independence Day of the country.
