Army forces launch operation to capture Daesh militants in eastern Iraq
Baghdad, Iraqi government forces have mounted an offensive in eastern part of the war-ravaged Arab country to hunt down the remnants of the Daesh terrorist group on Thursday.
Commander of Diyala Operation Headquarter Mazhar Al-Zavavi said the operation will be continued in Hamrin and Al-Neda regions in this eastern province which is close to the Iranian border lines.
According to Iraq's Alghadpress, several numbers of the country's Air Force, army, members of federal police as well as the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), also known as Hashd al-Sha'abi, have launched a vast operation to clear out the eastern region of Diyalah.
He said the Iraqi forces have managed to annihilate a hideout of Daesh terrorist forces in early hours of the operation.
