Asian, European leaders support JCPOA
Tehran, Leaders of Asia and the EU member states have underlined the usefulness of Iran nuclear deal for global security and also their commitment to the deal.
In another conclusion that ran counter to the US policy, European and Asian leaders praised the Iran nuclear deal another multilateral initiative rejected by Trump, the US media Associated Press (AP) reported.
Preserving the nuclear deal with Iran is a matter of respecting international agreements, and promoting international security, peace and stability, leaders were quoted by AP as saying in Asia-Europe Meeting in Brussels.
After Washington's May 8 exit from the historic Iran Deal, the US gave 90- to 180-day wind-down period to other countries before it starts re-imposing oil sanctions on Tehran on November 4.
Part of the US' illegitimate sanctions were imposed on Iran on August 9.
The US President Donald Trump also said he would reinstate the US nuclear sanctions on Iran and impose the highest level of economic bans on the Islamic Republic.
The European Union Foreign Affairs and Security Affairs Commissioner Federica Mogherini earlier said, I have to say that our partners from Asia have always shown a lot of interest in working to keep the full implementation of the JCPOA [Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action Iran nuclear deal]; obviously for security reasons that also concern Asia and Central Asia.
