Austria underlines keeping Iran Deal
Tehran,Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen in a message stressed preserving Iran nuclear deal also known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
'I would like to underline that the nuclear agreement with Iran, negotiated in Vienna, is the cornerstone of the solution to the Iranian nuclear issue. This agreement must be retained,' he said in a Twitter message referring to his meeting with UN secretary-general Antonio Guterres on Monday.
The meeting with UN secretary-general also focused on a number of international issues, including the conflicts in Syria, Yemen, Israel/Palestine, in and around Ukraine, and recent developments on the Korean peninsula.
Earlier, Austrian Envoy to Iran Stefan Scholz said Austria is 100 percent complying with Iran nuclear deal.
US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that Washington would pull out of Iran nuclear deal and reinstate nuclear sanctions on Iran.
This is while most world powers, including Russia, China, and the European Union have repeatedly stressed that keeping the deal is in the interest of world peace and security.
