Austrian FM urges efforts to help advance Syria peace talks
Vienna, Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl has called for all parties involved to help advance UN negotiations on Syria.
In her statement released on Saturday, Kneissl expressed deep concern about conditions in Syria and underlined the importance of experts' probe into the alleged chemical attack in Douma.
The experts of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) should have time and opportunity for investigating the alleged chemical attack, she said.
A sustainable solution to Syria will only be possible through the use of diplomatic tools and based on international law, she added.
The US together with its allies the UK and France targeted the Syrian capital city of Damascus early Saturday.
The US attack on a military base in Homs, western Syria injured 3 civilians, Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) earlier reported.
The media affiliated with the terrorists had claimed that the Syrian jet fighters conducted a chemical attack on Douma last Saturday killing 75 people and injuring scores of others.
This is while Syria had earlier warned against terrorists' attempts to orchestrate chemical attack scenario in Eastern Ghouta.
