President sent a message to express condolences over the death of a number of Iranian citizens in the recent floods in some provinces, calling on all related officials to double their efforts for addressing the problems in the areas hit by the floods.
President Hassan Rouhani's message is as follows:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Floods in a number of provinces around the country, especially in Shiraz, which has left a number of our dear citizens dead and injured in addition to ample financial damages to our fellow Iranians, has caused great grief and sorrow.
I would like to express condolences over these tragic events to dear Iranian nation, especially the noble people of all floodstricken provinces and the bereaved families of today's incident in Shiraz, and wish them patience, and the injured swift recovery.
I would also like to appreciate all authorities, relief institutions, the police and military forces who have rushed to people's aid and used all their facilities to stop human casualties from increasing, and ask them to add up their efforts to alleviate the problems in the areas.
It is also necessary that the Minister of Interior and Governor General of Fars Province prepare a report on the causes of the tragic incident in Shiraz, in which a number of fellow Iranians lost their lives.
Authorities of floodstricken provinces are also required to be in coordination with disaster management board and other related organs to prepare a report on the final estimates of the damage to the areas to be discussed in the first cabinet meeting of the new year.
