Barter exchange proper for fostering Iran-Pakistan trade ties: Official

Tehran, IRNA – The secretary general of Iran-Pakistan joint chamber of commerce has highlighted the issue of bartering between the two countries and said it is the best way to increase imports and exports.

Barter is the best choice because the proper way of financial exchange does not exist, Fahimeh Damroudi noted.

Reportedly, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has over and over again underlined the importance of trade development with neighbors.

As the president stressed, boost in trade with neighbors is a solution for easing the sanctions and reaching the long-term economic goals.

To follow the goals practically, the government signed a trade agreement with Pakistan late in 2021.

Iran-Pakistan agreement has planned to increase trade the next two years.

Also, agreement on removing trade obstacles and preparing the ground for free trade development within next three months is among the important plans the Iranian government.

According to the latest report of Iran Customs Administration, the value of country’s foreign trade has been 72.1 billion dollars during the first nine months of the Iranian calendar year (starting on March 21, 2021).
