Beijing against US Iran Action Group: China spox
Beijing, China is against the US' forming the Iran Action Group and won't accompany Washington in the decision, the spokesman of the Chinese Foreign Ministry told Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Monday.
China by no means confirms the US move, said Lu Kang.
Lu said that the move will destabilize the Middle East and so China cannot accept it.
Referring to the US withdrawal from Iran Deal, Ku urged all the signatories of the deal to be committed to accord.
Comprehensive attempt is the only way to solve the crisis in the region and the nuclear issue of Iran, he said.
He also said that China is against unilateral measures, threats, and sanctions against other countries.
US Thursday appointed Brian Hook in charge of Iran Action Group to guide US President Donald Trump's pressure campaign against Tehran.
'The measure is rather a psychological, economic war, but it will lead to nowhere,' said the spokesman of the Iranian foreign ministry Bahram Qasemi on Monday, vowing that the measure's effects will be contained by Iranian people resistance and devising solutions.
Iran and major world powers the US, Russia, China, UK, France and Germanysigned the deal, known officially as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), in 2015, under which Tehran accepted to curb its nuclear program in exchange for some economic sanctions relief.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in its latest report in May verified Iran's compliance to the deal for the eleventh time since the agreement was implemented in 2016.
Despite the commitment, Trump withdrew his country from the deal on May 8, 2018, calling it the worst deal ever and re-imposed unilateral economic sanctions against Iran.
