Beijing’s cultural relations with Tehran to be strengthened
Beijing, China's politician and advisor to the former Premier of China said that China's cultural relations with Iran should be expanded in the economic and political fields.
In an exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Monday, Gu Jin Ming said that China has now a lot of fields and capabilities in the New Silk Road as one of the basic plans of the government and Beijing authorities, and its realization requires cooperation from other countries, including Iran.
He said that the Silk Road is not the only connecting link between China and other countries in economic terms, but rather a place for cultural interactions with other countries and regions of the world, and Iran as a country that has played a historic role in the way of silk, must now restore its role.
He argued that Chinese President Jin Ping's visit to Tehran in 2016, while enhancing the level of relations between the two countries to strategic relations, also emphasized the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
Gu Jin Ming said that the two countries should develop their cultural relations based on the same capacities and attitudes of the leaders of Tehran and Beijing.
He described Iran's presence at cultural conferences and exhibitions in all parts of China as important and pointed out that 'we want a stronger presence and wider participation of Iran in the cultural interactions between the two countries'.
