Body of crashed IOOC helicopter pilot found

Bandar Abbas, The body of the pilot of a crashed helicopter of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) was found, Head of Hormuzgan Ports and Maritime Safety Administration said

A helicopter of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) which had been sent to Platform R1 on April 17 to transport a worker suffering from heart attack crashed into Persian Gulf waters shortly after its take off from the platform.

The dead body of the pilot Ali Fattahi was found at 53 miles southeast of Kish Island, Esmaeel Makizadeh told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Friday.

Death of Javad Karandish (partient) and Behrouz Ashkan (assistant physician) had earlier been confirmed.

Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) is one of the world's largest offshore oil producing companies with over a half century of experience. The company accounts for one third of Iranian oil export, operating in Iranian side of the Persian Gulf and Sea of Oman.
