Bright future of Iran-Pakistan ties expected in Rouhani’s 2nd term: Pak MP
Islamabad, Aug 1, At a time when member of Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is set to become next PM of Pakistan and just days before President Rouhani's swearing-in, a senior leader of the party says future of Iran-Pakistan ties is very bright.
In an interview with IRNA, Raja Muhammad Zafar-ul-Haq, leader of the House in Senate said that Iran and Pakistan are tied in eternal bond of friendship.
Iran is not just a neighbor of Pakistan but a brotherly country to which we have close cultural and religious links also, he noted.
He went on to say that it is the basic principle of Pakistan's foreign policy to have best of the relations with the Islamic countries especially with the neighboring Iran.
He said that Iran has always helped Pakistan in difficult times.
Raja Muhammad Zafar-ul-Haq expressing his views said that Iran is also playing a major role for the rights of oppressed Muslims and its support on Al-Quds and Kahsmir issues is very important for the Muslims.
Iran and Pakistan share common viewpoints on many international and regional issues, he said.
