British Junior FM to visit Iran on Friday

Tehran, Britain's Junior Foreign Minister Alistair Burt will arrive in Tehran on Friday (August 31).

The visit comes a day after the international nuclear watchdog IAEA confirmed Iran's commitment to the nuclear deal, signed in 2015.

As long as Iran meets its commitments under the deal, we remain committed to it as we believe it is the best way to ensure a safe, secure future for the region, Reuters cited Burt as saying before leaving for Tehran.

Burt will meet Iranian ministers, including his counterpart Abbas Araghchi, and NGOs during his two-day visit when he will also discuss Iran's role in conflicts in Syria and Yemen, according to Reuters.
