BTA chief: OANA proves Iran not isolated
Tehran, Managing Director of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) and Chairman of the upcoming News Agencies World Congress Maxim Minchev said on Wednesday that evidence proves that the efforts by some big powers who tried to isolate Iran are doomed to failure.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on the sidelines of the 43th meeting of the Executive Board of the Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) in Tehran, he said, 'I believe that the US economic sanctions left no impact on Iran's relations and cooperation with other countries and the presence of delegations from different countries at OANA proves the claim.'
He underlined that the US sanctions re-imposed against Iran, Russia, Turkey and other countries is an abnormal behavior in international relations.
The official expressed the hope that the White House would put aside such unacceptable and doomed behavior as soon as possible.
He also showed willingness to broaden media cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The 43th meeting of the Executive Board of the Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) was addressed Monday by the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Abbas Salehi and IRNA's managing director Seyyed zia Hashemi, with the participation of senior executives of the news agencies of the Organization, senior news agencies, Iranian newspapers and a number of heads of commissions and representatives of Iran's parliament, IRIB, the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other organizations and institutions hosted by IRNA at the Spinase Palace Hotel in Tehran.
