Children of Iranian mothers, non-Iranian fathers to receive citizenship

The children born to Iranian mothers and non-Iranian fathers would be able to receive Iranian citizenship according a bill passed by the cabinet.

According to the bill, mothers of such children can fill out a request on behalf of their minor children to receive Iranian citizenship. And if the children are above 18 years old, they can personally apply for Iranian citizenship.

The bill will be voted for in Majlis (Iranian Parliament); and if passed, it will become a law.
