China sympathizes with victims of Iran flash floods
Beijing, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in a message expressed condolences over death of Iranian people in the recent floods in various provinces.
In his message to Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Wang sympathized with those who were injured in the incident.
Expressing regret over heavy floods and its damages, he said he believes that Iranian government will rescue people and reconstruct cities with its wisdom.
Unprecedented heavy rains caused floods in various parts of Iran over the past two weeks. Scores of people were killed and 478 others were injured and a large number were displaced across Iran.
The disaster coincided with the high season of Iranian trips as they were spending the national twoweek holidays of Nowruz.
Ambassadors of UK, Norway, Austria, the UN Information Center (UNIC) and head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of the Vatican City State Pope Francis in separate messages expressed their condolences over the deadly incident.
