Chinese FM underlines Beijing’s compliance with JCPOA
Beijing, Feb 7, IRNA � Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi underlined his country's compliance with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), saying that China's stance on the interactional pact is crystal clear.
In a meeting with Chairman of Iranian Majlis (Parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi, he added that both Iran and China are abiding by the deal and they will continue to safeguard it.
Referring to growing ties between the two countries, he called for presence of President Hassan Rouhani in the upcoming summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Leaders of the two countries will have an opportunity to hold talks on the sidelines of the summit, he said.
For his part, Boroujerdi said that the two countries' ties are significant and historic, noting that Tehran-Beijing have been growing since the beginning of the Islamic Revolution 1977 and will continue in future.
During the meeting, both officials discussed avenues for bolstering of bilateral relations as well as regional developments.
They also discussed terrorism in the region including Iraq and Syria and plights of the Yemeni people.
Boroujerdi arrived in Beijing late on Wednesday at the head of a delegation for talks with Chinese officials.
Prior to the meeting with Chinese foreign minister, Boroujerdi held talks with managing director of Chinese Railway Company to discuss Chinese investors' participation in Iran's railway projects.
