Confiscation of prehistoric antiques in SE Iran

Tehran, Thirty-seven antique items dating back to prehistoric and historic eras were discovered and confiscated in Kerman Province, southeastern Iran.

Protection unit of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO) of Kerman Province received some information about some historical items in Jiroft and thus started a vast research and managed to recognize the people involved, said Brigadier-General Amir Rahmatollahi according to a Tuesday report.

He said that one of the smugglers was arrested in a surprise attack, and 37 historical items including coins, medallions and rings were confiscated.
