Cuba condemns US, UK, French attacks on Syria
Tehran, Cuba strongly condemned the recent attack by the US, UK and France on Syria that Havana sees it based on the pretext of an alleged use of chemical weapons in the country.
The US in cooperation with France and Britain launched a series of attacks on some targets in Syria early Saturday.
Washington claims that it was a response to an alleged chemical weapon attack near Damascus. The US blames the attack on the government of Syria.
This is a 'flagrant violation of International Law and the UN Chapter, while being an outrage against a sovereign state that worsens the conflict in Syria and the region,' the website of Presna Latina, the official Cuban news agency, quotes a statement issued by the country's Foreign Ministry.
The statement added that the US has attacked Syria before the accusations on Syrian government are verified by the international community, as the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) is currently investigating in Syria.
'The Cuban Revolutionary Government conveys its solidarity and sympathy with the people and government of Syria for the loss of lives and material damage as a consequence of this heinous attack,' the statement read.
