Czech Gov’t not to hand over ex-PYD leader to Turkey
Erbil, The Czech government will not hand over ex-Democratic Union Party (PYD) Leader Saleh Muslim, Iraqi Kurdish politician Muhammad Amin Penjwini said.
Saleh Muslim has been interrogated by Czech police, but the European country will not hand over him to Turkey, he said.
Muslim is now in a hotel in Prague, he added.
Turkish government has blacklisted Muslim as wanted terrorist and has offered $1.2m for his arrest.
Saleh Muslim Muhammad is the former co-chairman of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), the driving power behind the de facto autonomous Kurdish-controlled region of Rojava in Northern Syria. As the deputy coordinator of the National Coordination Committee for Democratic Change, he is also the most prominent member of the Kurdish opposition in the Syrian Civil War.
