Dialogue key to resolving religions’ conflicts: Academic
Qom, There is no better way than dialogue for resolving issues among religions in the world, head of Iran's University of Religions and Denominations said Sunday.
Speaking to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Abolhassan Navvab said the only way for mitigating radicalism of some religions in the world and settlling the differences among Islamic denominations is to hold talks with their followers.
Referring to conference diplomacy as a key to harmony, he said that holding scientific meetings with religious leaders, experts and specialists has proved the fact that there is no way less costly and more effective than dialogue for resolving differences.
He also noted that the University of Religions and Denominations with a good understanding of world religions has the capacity to pave the way for talks with their followers through scholarly engagement, he said.
The university, with some 3,000 post graduate students and 60 faculty members, is currently cooperating with more than 70 universities across the world and has laid the ground for reducing religious tensions through dialogue.
