Envoy: IranRussia ties on its zenith
Moscow, Iranian Foreign Minister's senior assistant for special political affairs Ali Asghar Khaji said on Tuesday "we would dare to say that existing relations between Tehran and Moscow is now standing at its highest level".
Khaji made the remarks in a meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov in Moscow on Tuesday.
"Despite many ups and downs between the two sides' relations, we are witnessing expansion of allout relations winning support of both sides' leaders," he said.
Iran and Russia have experienced very good cooperation at mutual, regional and international relations as both sides have adopted similar stance in dealing with developing issues, he said.
Relations between Tehran and Moscow is of prime importance mainly under current mounting economic sanctions imposed by the US on Iran and Russia, Khaji said.
Lauding the stance adopted by Russia in dealing with the US illegal measures against Iran, he said both countries spare no effort to resolve regional disputes along with fight against terrorism.
Iran's envoy is in Moscow to exchange views with Russian officials on recent developments in Syria.
