EU to stay committed to Iran deal: Top European official

Tehran, The European Union will remain committed to the July 2015 nuclear deal with Iran, the European Council president said on Thursday.

On Iran nuclear deal, we agreed unanimously that the EU will stay in the agreement as long as Iran remains fully committed to it, the chairman of a two-day EU leaders' summit in the Bulgarian capital, Donald Tusk said in a press conference, according to Reuters.

The remarks came amidst the speculations on the fate of the Iran nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), after the US unilaterally withdrew from it on May 8.

All other signatories have declared that they will stay in the deal despite the withdrawal.

Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif visited the capitals of the signatoriesUK, France, China, Russia and Germanythis week to talk on the future of the landmark international accord.
