EU underlines all sides’ commitment to JCPOA
Tehran, Aug 5, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini underlined all sides' commitment to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
She made the remarks in a meeting with the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
Congratulating President Rouhani's re-election, Mogherini hailed the JCPOA's achievements and called for development of mutual cooperation in various economic, trade and political fields between Iran and the EU.
Presence of the European Union delegation in the inauguration ceremony was an important political decision and showed the EU countries' commitment to boost relations with Iran and their desire to protect the JCPOA, she added.
Mogherini said that all sides of talks have a duty to fully execute the JCPOA which had positive impact on bilateral and multilateral international cooperation.
EU is planning to adopt a comprehensive program to guarantee execution of JCPOA, the official added.
She lauded Iran's commitment to its obligations enshrined in the JCPOA.
The official called for development of cooperation between Iran and EU in various fields, including science, culture, economy and trade.
Mogherini arrived in Tehran on Friday night to attend President Hassan Rouhani's inauguration on August 5.
The inauguration ceremony was held in the parliament.
Eight presidents, 19 parliament speakers and prime ministers, seven vice speakers, 11 foreign ministers and 35 special envoys took part in Rouhani's inauguration.
