Expansion of Iran’s environmental cooperation with Finland, Algeria
Tehran, The head of the Center for International Affairs and the Conventions of the Organization for the Environment of Iran, met with the environmental ministers of Finland, Estonia and Algeria, and emphasized the deepening of the environmental relations among the countries.
Nasser Moghaddasi, who traveled to Estonia to attend the second preparatory meeting of the United Nations Environment Committee's board of directors and the Permanent Representatives Committee, met with several foreign countries ministers.
He met with Finnish Minister of the Environment Tilly Cainen as Vice-President at the UN Environment Committee's board of directors meeting in Estonia.
During the meeting, the two sides emphasized the importance of activating bilateral cooperation, and the Finnish minister, in light of his participation in the Clean Technology Conference held in Tehran in 2016 announced Finland's readiness to deepen its cooperation, in particular on waste management and optimization, energy conservation and coastal management and pollution, environmental monitoring and data management.
In this regard, the parties agreed that the implementation plan should provide for the existing understanding and provide the field for its operation through the private or public sector, as appropriate.
