Fire injures 14 in northwestern Tehran

Tehran, A fire in a 25-story building injured 14 people in northwest of Tehran on Wednesday, the city's Emergency Department told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

The fire was put out and two of the injured people were taken to hospital, said Mohammad-Karam Dorabadi, Head of the Public Relations Office of Tehran Emergency Department.

He added the rest of the injured people were taken care of in the place.

They had mostly inhaled smoke, he said.

The spokesman of Tehran Fire Stations and Safety Services Organization Jalal Maleki said that fire fighters from five stations rushed to the place and extinguished the fire.

The fire originally started from the ground floor, Maleki said.

No one was killed in the fire, he added.
