Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian expressed condolences on Tuesday over the death of Iran’s Ambassador to Yemen Hassan Irlou.
Irlou who had tested positive for COVID-19 in Yemen last week passed away on Tuesday after coming back to Iran.
Ansarallah Movement spokesman Muhammad Abdul-Salam, too, sent condolences on Irlou’s death.
Irlou had been also suffering from injuries inflicted by chemical weapons used by former Saddam Hussein regime in Iraq during the eight-year war between Iran and Iraq in the 1980.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry has said that he was brought back to Iran in an inappropriate condition due to a delay in required cooperation by some countries in the region.
Iran had contacted with some states in the region to bring Irlou back to the country.
