FM Zarif congratulates New Jewish Year
Tehran, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a message expressed congratulations on the New Jewish Year.
'As the sun gives way to the moon, I wish all my Jewish compatriots and Jews worldwide a very Happy New Year filled with peace and harmony. Happy Rosh Hashanah,' Zarif tweeted on Sunday.
Rosh Hashanah, literally meaning the 'beginning [of] the year' is the Jewish New Year. The biblical name for this holiday is Yom Teruah, literally 'day [of] shouting or blasting'.
