Four Shia people shot dead in SW Pakistan
Islamabad, July 19, IRNA At least four people belonging to 'Hazara' Shia community were shot dead on Wednesday when unidentified gunmen opened fire on their vehicle in Mastung area of Balochistan province in SW Pakistan.
According to reports quoting police sources, a woman was among the slain people. Police sources also said was an incident of targeted killing.
The assailants escaped unhurt after carrying out the killings.
No group has claimed responsibility of the attack so far.
Shia community is about 20 percent of almost 200 million population of Pakistan.
Balochistan has been experiencing violence and targeted killings since more than a decade. More than 1,400 incidents targeting the minority Shia and Hazara community have taken place in the province during the past 15 years.
