Funeral procession for Iranian officials held in Tehran

Funeral procession was held in Tehran on Friday for Managing Director of the Social Security Organization of Iran Taqi Nourbakhsh and his deputy Abdolrahman Tajeddin, who were killed in a car accident in Gorgan, the capital city of northeastern Golestan Province, on Thursday.

The event was held with the attendance of the First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri, Head of Presidential Office Mahmoud Vaezi, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali-Akbar Salehi, Iran's Vice-President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari, Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Affairs Mohammad Shariatmadari, Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammad-Javad Azari-Jahromi and some officials.

Nourbaksh and a director in the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Affairs Abdolrahman Tajeddin succumbed to severe injuries received in a deadly car accident in Gorgan city suburbs in Golestan Province northeast of Iran on Thursday.

The car that Nourbakhsh and others were aboard collided with a heavy trailer and was badly damaged. The passengers received severe injuries as a result and underwent surgery after being transferred to a hospital.
