GCC SUMMIT CONVENES IN RIYADH

The 39th annual summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) was held in Saudi Arabia in the absence of the State of Qatar.

"Qatar burned all its return ships and no longer has any ship on its side that can return it to the Council," Bahrain's Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa said.

Besides Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, the Gulf Cooperation Council includes Kuwait and Oman, which still have ties with Doha.

The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council AbdulLatif Al Zayani said the 39th session of the Council would discuss relations with Iran, especially after the reapplication of US sanctions on Tehran.
