GERMAN PLASTICS MACHINERY EXPORTS TO IRAN DROP TO 18 MILLION USD IN
Germany's plastics and rubber machinery exports to Iran, amounted to only 18.07 million U.S. dollars, in the first six months of 2018, a news website reported, Wednesday.
The figure registered a 30.9 percent decline in value, compared with the corresponding period last year, said Eghtesadonline.
Germany's machinery exports to Iran in 2017, stood at 44.58 million dollars.
The decline comes, amid U.S. President, Donald Trump's decision, to withdraw Washington, in May, from the 2015 Iranian international nuclear agreement, and re-imposed in Aug, economic sanctions on the Islamic republic.
Iran is currently hosting a plastic exhibition in the capital, Tehran, which has brought together representatives from 15 countries, including Germany, Switzerland, Cyprus, Belgium, India, Turkey and the Republic of Korea.
The four-day exhibition, which will conclude on Sept 27 (today), is hailed as the biggest plastic industry event, in the Middle East.
