Germany trying to preserve JCPOA: Envoy
Tehran, German Ambassador to Iran Michael Klor-Berchtold said on Wednesday that Germany not only tried to get the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) signed by the two sides but will also try to preserve it.
He made the remarks in meeting with member or Majlis (Parliament) Energy Commission Abdollah Sameri.
Klor-Berchtold added that even when Iran was under international sanctions, some German companies did not leave the country and continued their economic activities.
Pointed to complexity of international issues, the ambassador said that although one of the signatories to the JCPOA is critical of it and tries to prevent foreign investments in Iran, Germany accompanied by its European partners and other states are resisting this trend.
Sameri appreciated Germany' stances in support of the JCPOA and underlined importance of developing economic ties between the two countries.
Sameri, who is representing people of Khorramshahr in Majlis, said that Khuzestan province and city of Khorramshahr have plenty of capacities in the fields of energy, industry and agriculture for investment of Germany companies.
He said that Majlis supports expansion of Iran's cooperation with Germany.
