Hamas, Islamic Jihad agree to ceasefire in Gaza
Tehran, The Palestinian resistance movements Hamas and the Islamic Jihad have reached a ceasefire with the Zionist regime of Israel after a day of intense clash that left 2 minors killed and 15 others injured, media reported.
Islamic Jihad spokesman Daoud Shihab said that the ceasefire in Gaza was reached following a series of contacts on Saturday evening, based on 2014 agreements, the Palestinian news agency, Ma'an, reported.
He also noted that Egypt and other regional and international parties played roles in reaching the ceasefire agreement.
The clash along the Gaza Strip border with the occupied territories of Palestine was intensified on Friday evening.
Warplanes of the Zionist regime of Israel raided targets in Gaza Strip several times on Saturday.
The strikes came a few hours after the Israeli regime announced on Saturday morning that it had targeted a number of locations in Gaza, including some bases of the Palestinian movement Hamas. The movement retaliated the raids with rockets targeting a number of locations.
The air raids comes amid the most brutal aggression of the Israeli forces against Palestinians who are holding the Great Marches of Return on Gaza borders. The protest began on March 30, 2018.
At least 137 Palestinians, including children, reporters and medics, were killed by the Israeli forces as a result of the deadly aggression. Some 15,000 protesters have been injured by the live fire of the forces.
