Hariri resignation case closed
Beirut After a month of uncertainty following the surprise resignation of Lebanese prime minister, the country's cabinet resumed its activity on Tuesday.
The Lebanese cabinet convened on Tuesday chaired by President Michel Aoun and in the presence of the ministers and Prime Minister Saad Hariri.
Hariri told in the end of the session that he had given up his decision for resignation.
He hailed the wise management of President Aoun in the recent crisis and the government efforts to preserve the stability of the country.
Speaking to reporters at the end of the session, President Aoun said the important thing was the return of the prime minister and getting informed about the conditions affecting his stances.
Hariri had announced his resignation on November 4 while he was on a visit to Riyadh. Many believed that Hariri's resignation had been announced under Saudi Arabia's pressure.
Insistence of different groups in Lebanon for the return of the prime minister and the international support for the Lebanese legitimate demand led to the departure of Saudi Arabia by Hariri who returned to Lebanon after a short stay in France.
