Hashd Al-Shaabi Frees 200 Iraqi Families from ISIL’s Grip in Tal Afar
The Iraqi volunteer forces (Hashd al-Shaabi) has announced that dozens of families have been rescued from the ISIL's detention in several villages near Tal Afar.
"Hashd al-Shaabi in a special operation managed to set free 200 Iraqi families by breaking the ISIL siege in the surrounding villages of Tal Afar city," the Arabic-language al-Ahd news website quoted eyewitnesses as saying on Monday; FNA reported.
The Iraqi volunteer forces targeted the ISIL's military positions in the villages around Tal Afar city, killing and injuring several of the terrorists.
The ISIL's military equipment also sustained heavy damage in Hashd al-Shaabi's offensives.
Meantime, the Iraqi volunteer forces also continued their operation against the ISIL terrorists in Nineveh province, specially in areas near the city of Mosul.
On November 25, Hashd al-Shaabi announced that popular forces had started their 5th phase of anti-terrorism operation Southwest of Tal Afar city as they completed their siege of the terrorists in the city of Tal Afar.
The Tal Afar city is located between the city of Mosul and Syria and terrorists use Tal Afar to flee to Raqqa in Syria. The capture of Tal Afar will be very important for paving the way for victory in Nineveh province.
