Head of Belarus Senate to attend Rouhani inauguration
Moscow, July 14, IRNA - Head of Belarusian Senate Mikhail Myasnikovich said on Thursday that he is to attend President Hassan Rouhani's swearing-in ceremony on August 5.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Iran's Ambassador in Minsk Mostafa Oveisi.
During the meeting, the two officials also discussed a major issues such bilateral ties and Tehran-Minsk cooperation in the parliamentary field.
Referring to positive achievements of his last year's visit to Tehran and his talks with the country's senior officials, Myasnikovich said that necessary grounds fare now prepared for boosting Tehran-Minsk ties.
The high-ranking official also hailed Iran's independent policies in the domestic and international scenes, ensuring that friendly ties will continue during the next tenure of President Rouhani.
Iran's envoy, for his part, highlighted the significance of relations with Belarus as well as parliamentary capacities in bolstering bilateral ties, saying that Iran is prepared to find new arenas for having further mutual cooperation.
Belarus Republic with 10 million populations is neighboring Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and occupies an area of 207,600 square kilometers. It gained independence after Soviet Union's breakup in 1991.
