Holland FM hopes US JCPOA withdrawal not harm EU companies
New York, Dutch Foreign Minister Stef Blok deplored US withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal known as JCPOA, hoping that the move would not harm European companies.
Blok told reporters before addressing a Security Council meeting Thursday that 'the best option for European and Dutch companies doing business with Iran would be exemptions' from any US sanctions.
He is heading to Washington for meetings with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and National Security Adviser John Bolton.
On last Tuesday, US President Donald Trump announced the country's withdrawal from the landmark international pact, a decision which drew fierce opposition from US allies such as the EU, Britain, Germany and France, which are still committed to the JCPOA.
