Human Rights Council not a place for human rights violators
Tehran, Mohammad Javad Larijani, the secretary of Iran's High Council for Human Rights, said on Wednesday that the UN Human Rights Council is not is place for those holding disgraceful human rights records.
The US exit from the UN Human Rights Council is regarded as cheerful news by all the countries which see human rights as a behavioral value far from double standards and covers for terrorist activities, Larijani said.
The presence of the US in the UNHRC has reduced the credibility of the Council, the official said, adding, 'I don't think other countries having a hand in big crimes against humanity shall have a place in the Human Rights Council.'
The perpetrators of crimes going on in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Bahrain and Afghanistan who have also contributed to the establishment of Daesh and Al-Qaeda and all those who set up Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo and other secret prisons in different parts of the world, have no place in the Council, Larijani said.
