ICRC: Iran’s effective measures to prevent injuries from mine blast
Mahabad, Aug 28, Representative of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and advisor for Asia-Pacific region of the organization Steffen Robinson said on Monday that Iran has taken effective measures to prevent physically-impaired caused by land mine blast.
He made the remarks in a meeting for awareness plan and prevention for physical �impaired caused by land mine in Oshnavieh city governorate.
Robinson added that activities of Iran's State Welfare Organization in this concern are very good and excellent.
He said it is necessary to expand relations between ICRC and SWOI and try to promote such relations.
In the meeting, Governor of Oshnavieh Asaad Khezri and Head of SWOI in the city Fakhreddin Penhani presented a report on measures and actions in facing with land mine problems in the area.
ICRC representative and accompanying delegation with experts from SWOI were in Oshnavieh to access implementation of awareness plan and prevention of physically-impaired caused by land mine.
Oshnavieh city by 70,000 populations located in west of West Azarbaijan province.
