New York, IRNA – Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi has underlined that cooperation of independent countries will thwart dominators’ attempts to stop progress in sovereign states.

President Raisi made the remarks in a meeting with his Zimbabwean counterpart Emmerson Mnangagwa in New York on the sidelines of the 77th United Nations General Assembly on Thursday.

Raisi called for expansion of relations and interactions between the two friendly countries, saying that there are numerous opportunities for development of ties in the energy, mineral, agricultural and technological sectors.

He also noted that his administration is keen on developing relationships with African countries.

The chief executive further called for making operational a joint commission to pursue cooperation between the two countries.

For his part, the Zimbabwean president said that presence of Iranian companies in different sectors of agricultural activities such as export, import, and plantation can pave the way for increasing bilateral interactions.

Reminding his good trips to Iran, Mnangagwa said that both countries have been affected by imperialism’s hostility; thus, Zimbabwe needs more collaboration and coordination with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
