Informed source to IRNA: Qatar to host sanctions removal talks on Tues.
Tehran, IRNA – An informed source at the Iranian Foreign Ministry told IRNA on Monday that negotiations on the revival of the 2015 nuclear deal will kick off in Qatar on Tuesday.
The source said that the negotiations will take place in the capital Doha.
Earlier on Monday, the Foreign Ministry said that the talks will cover issues on the removal of anti-Iran sanctions, which have been left unresolved in the Vienna discussions.
The ministry also said that the upcoming talks will be held indirectly with the United States, and that nothing will be added or reduced from what has already been agreed on in Vienna.
The Vienna negotiations began in April 2021 to revive the Iranian nuclear deal which got into trouble three years earlier after the US abandoned the accord and re-imposed sanctions on Iran.
Iran has time and again said that any agreement to revive the 2015 deal should result in the full removal of the sanctions in a verifiable manner.
