Iran advises US to give up past policy against Iran
Tehran, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman on Monday advised the US administration to give up continued mistakes against Iran.
The US is trying to make obstacles on the way of Iran's progress and development, Bahram Qasemi said in a weekly press briefing.
He referred to the US' current officials' commitment to destabilize Iranian economy and expressed the hope that the US President Donald Trump employs more moderate and rational advisors who are familiar with the region and Iran's history and issues.
He warned that continuing such wrong policy towards Iran can lead to unfavorable consequences for the US.
The US President Donald Trump mounted pressure on Iran and on May 8 announced that Washington would withdraw from Iran's nuclear deal and re-impose nuclear-related sanctions on the country.
This is while most world powers, including Russia, China, and the European Union, have repeatedly stressed that keeping the deal is in the interest of the world peace and security.
Commenting on the US' demand from Australia to extradite an Iranian student living in Canberra to Washington, he called for the release of the innocent Iranian student.
