Iran and Sweden will sign Scientific Cooperation
Delegates of Swedish embassy in Tehran paid an official visit to the Ministry Science, Research and Technology (MSRT), and had a meeting with Dr. Attaollah Koohian, the Deputy of the Center for International Scientific Cooperation (CISC) of the MSRT. In this meeting, that took place on 2nd October 2016, Dr. Koohian expressed MSRT's readiness in expanding and deepening scientific cooperation between Iran and Sweden, in the form of signing a Memorandum of Understanding. He added that in line with such cooperation, MSRT welcomes agreements and academic cooperation between universities of the two countries, and emphasized on the importance of making the most of the existing capacities and capabilities of each country, for strengthening these academic cooperation.
Moreover, referring to 'supporting Joint Venture Research Projects', 'allocation of short-term scholarships', 'holding joint workshops, conferences', 'holding joint educational programs', 'establishing language chairs in both countries', as the possible fields of cooperation between the two countries, the Deputy of CISC expressed his optimism in further expansion of the relations of the two countries.
The First Secretary of Sweden Embassy in Tehran, Mr. Per Linner, also welcomed such collaboration, and announced the official visit of the high ranking Swedish delegates in the next month. Mr. Linner hoped for the two sides to sign a scientific MoU in this visit, and saw this as an opportunity for expanding collaboration between the I.R. of Iran and Sweden.
