Iran arrests several people in connection with Daesh
Tehran, Iran says it has arrested seven people linked to the Daesh (the ISIS) terrorist group.
'Seven people related to the Daesh terrorist group who were plotting were identified and later arrested on Friday night,' said Iranian Intelligence Minister Hojjatoleslam Mahmoud Alavi on Sunday, referring to the Arabic denomination of the group. He did not elaborate on where the arrest took place.
Alavi, who was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an exhibition showcasing Iran's defense capabilities, said that 'members of several other teams have also been arrested'.
He added the ministry he is presiding has been closely monitoring the enemies' movements.
Iran has beefed up security ahead of mass rallies on Monday when hundreds of thousands of people are expected to celebrate the 40th anniversary of victory of the country's Islamic Revolution in 1979.
