Iran assumes chairmanship of Speaker’s Conference
Tehran, Presidency of Speakers' Conference which is being held in Tehran on Saturday was handed over from Pakistan to Iran.
Asad Qaiser, who held the position for one year, handed over the chairmanship to the speaker of Iran Majlis (parliament) Ali Larijani during the Second Sixnation Speakers' Conference underway in Iran's capital city of Tehran.
The participants had elected the next chairman during the first edition of the conference held in Pakistan's capital of Islamabad in December 2017.
The Second Speakers' Conference participated by Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, China, Russia, and Afghanistan, which aims at combating terrorism and strengthening regional communications kicked off on Saturday morning in Tehran, Iran's capital, with the attendance of Iranian president Hassan Rouhani.
