Iran, Azerbaijan discuss cultural issues
Baku, Head of Islamic Culture and Relations Organizations Abouzar Ebrahimi Torkaman and Azerbaijan First Vice-President and Head of Heyder Aliev Cultural Foundation Ms. Mehriban Aliyeva reviewed cultural issues in a meeting in Baku on Friday.
Torkaman referred to cultural and historical commonalities between Iran and Azerbaijan as a great capacity for promoting relations in all fields.
The political will of both countries' leaders and 10 meetings between Iranian and Azeri presidents over the past four years convey good prospective for both the countries, he added.
Ms. Aliyeva, for her part, expressed happiness over holding Iranian movies day in Azerbaijan, saying Iranian cinema has especial position in the world.
She also hailed holding Iran cultural week in Baku, saying Azerbaijan embraces such programs.
She also expressed satisfaction on selecting Tabriz as the capital of tourism in Islamic World in 2018 and also choosing Nakhchivan as the cultural capital.
Torkaman's trip to Baku happened at the invitation of Azerbaijan Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev.
The visit aims at promoting cultural and scientific cooperation.
Torkaman is scheduled to hold a meeting with Garayev and to inaugurate Iran movies days in Baku.
