Iran, Azerbaijan sign military cooperation protocol

Baku, Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan on Wednesday signed a protocol on military cooperation.

The protocol was signed in Baku between visiting Iranian Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Major-General Mohammad Baqeri and Azeri Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov.

The protocol covered boosting bilateral cooperation in different military and military-technical areas.

The Iranian general who arrived in Baku earlier today also met with Azeri President Ilham Aliyev during which they discussed further expansion of bilateral relations.

During his two-day stay in Baku, Baqeri is also scheduled to meet with the country’s prime minister and the speaker of Azeri National Assembly.
